• to express a fact that stays for a long time(state):

• Always true about a person or about the world: The sun rises in the east.

It rains a lot in Britain.

The spelling of third person singular:

• add –s to the base form of the verb

(wants,eats,reads,writes,helps..)

• add –es when the verb end in ss,sh,ch,x,o

(kisses, goes,fixes,watches,washes)

• add –ies when the verb end in

(FLY—FLIES)
